CA Final November 2026 Exam Form Eligibility: Articleship, AICITSS, SPOM & SSP Checklist

OFFICIAL ICAI NOTICE

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the official eligibility requirements for the CA Final November 2026 attempt. Every attempt, well-prepared candidates run into last-minute panic — not over syllabus, but over a pending Articleship status, an incomplete AICITSS module, or a rejected photo upload. This guide breaks the official ICAI announcement into a step-by-step checklist so you can fill your exam form with confidence.

Deadline Alert! AICITSS and SPOM must be cleared on or before 10 October 2026. Articleship completion cut-offs vary by stream — check yours below before the application window opens.

Step 1: Before You Even Open the Exam Form

ICAI advises candidates to verify SSP (Self-Service Portal) status well ahead of the application window. Five checks matter most: valid login, current course registration, photo/signature quality, "Registered" Articleship status, and any pending corrections.
1
Valid SSP login. No login yet? Create one at eservices.icai.org before doing anything else.
2
Course registration must be current. If your code isn't current, convert it on the SSP — free of charge. For CA Final, current codes are NEWFIN23 or CONFIN23. Path: Student Functions → Student Module → Course Registration → Apply for Conversion (Convert Old to New Course).
3
Photograph & signature quality. If not print-quality, update on the SSP before filling the form — marksheets are generated from this file. Full specs in Step 5.
4
Articleship status must show "Registered." Any other status (Registered_Inactive, Requested, Submitted, On Hold, Rejected, Awaiting Approval) must be corrected first. Path: Article Functions → Articleship/Audit → Articleship → Articleship Application (Form 102/103).
5
Any other correction? Raise a ticket on the SSP, or email final_examhelpline@icai.in.

Step 2: Articleship Eligibility — Which Rule Applies to You

Eligibility depends on whether you're registered under the 3-year (3.5-year) stream or the 2-year stream. Match your situation against the tables below to find your applicable cut-off date.

Registered Under 3 Years / 3.5 Years of Articleship

Eligible under any ONE of the following conditions:

Condition Cut-off
Completed 3 / 3.5 years of training as on the date of filling the form
Will complete 3 / 3.5 years (incl. excess leave) On or before 31 Oct 2026
In service on 1 Nov 2026, serving last 12 months, due to complete 3 years (PE-II stream / PE-II converted to IPCC/IIPCC) On or before 31 Oct 2027
In service on 1 Nov 2026, serving last 6 months, due to complete 3.5 years (PCC stream) On or before 30 Apr 2027
In service on 1 Nov 2026, serving last 6 months, due to complete 3 years (Intermediate/IPCC/IIPCE) On or before 30 Apr 2027
In service on 1 Nov 2026, serving last 12 months, due to complete 3.5 years (PE-II→PCC, or PE-II→PCC→IPCC/IIPCE) On or before 31 Oct 2027

Taken a termination? Re-register for your balance period so you're in service as on 1 November 2026, with your 3 or 3.5 years (including excess leave) completing on or before 30 April 2027 or 31 October 2027, as applicable.

Registered Under 2 Years of Articleship

  • Must have completed the full 2 years (including excess leave) on or before 30 April 2026.

Step 3: AICITSS — The Deadline You Cannot Miss

Advanced ICITSS is mandatory under the New Scheme of Education and Training to sit the CA Final exam. It combines the Management & Communication Skills Course, the Advanced IT Course, and the Advanced IT Test — all due on or before 10 October 2026.
  • Haven't cleared the Advanced IT Test? Check the schedule via the official ICAI exam department notice and clear it well before the deadline.
  • Completed only one of GMCS-II or the old Advanced ITT under the Final (Old) course? You only need the remaining component — not the full Advanced ICITSS.
  • Converted from Final (Old) to Final (New) and appeared at least once in the Old course exam? Complete Advanced ICITSS either before appearing in the Final exam, or after passing but before applying for ICAI membership.

Step 4: Self-Paced Online Modules (SPOM) — Which Sets Apply to You

SPOM covers Set A (Corporate & Economic Laws), Set B (Strategic Cost & Performance Management), Set C, and Set D. Which sets you need depends on your Final admission date and Intermediate performance. Book test slots at spmt.icai.org.

A. Admitted to Final till November 2023

Exempt from Set C & D. Set A and/or Set B mandatory before applying for membership:

Your Status Modules to Qualify
Appeared till Nov 2023, couldn't pass either group Set A and Set B
Passed Group 2 till Nov 2023, not Group 1 Set A only
Passed Group 1 till Nov 2023, not Group 2 Set B only
Paper 5 exemption (May 2022–Nov 2023), group not cleared Set A only
Paper 4 exemption (May 2022–Nov 2023), group not cleared Set B only
Paper 4 & 5 exemption (May 2022–Nov 2023), group not cleared All modules exempt

B. Admitted to Final in May 2024

  • Exempt from Set C & D. Set A and Set B mandatory before applying for membership.

C. Admitted to Final from November 2024 Onwards

  • Must mandatorily qualify Set A, B, C and/or D as applicable, on or before 10 October 2026.

D. Cleared Both Intermediate Groups by November 2023

  • Plus Advanced ICITSS + 2.5 years articleship (incl. excess leave) by 31 Oct 2026, OR 2 years articleship by 30 Apr 2026 → exempt from Set C & D, but Set A and Set B mandatory before membership.

E. Cleared Both Intermediate Groups After November 2023

Must qualify ALL modules (Set A, B, C & D) on or before 10 October 2026. If one group was cleared by Nov 2023 and the other under the Unit Scheme (May 2024–May 2026), the requirement depends on Intermediate marks:

Marks Scored at Intermediate Modules to Qualify
600 marks Set A, B, C, D
700 marks Set A, Set B + either Set C or Set D
800 marks Set A and Set B only

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the deadline for AICITSS and SPOM for the November 2026 CA Final attempt?

Both must be completed on or before 10 October 2026.

My Articleship status shows "Submitted" on the SSP — am I eligible to apply?

Not yet. Only a "Registered" status is accepted. Any other status (Requested, Submitted, On Hold, Rejected, etc.) must be corrected via Article Functions → Articleship/Audit before filling the exam form.

Do I need to pay a fee to convert my course code to NEWFIN23/CONFIN23?

No. Conversion from the old course code to the current Final course code is free of charge on the SSP.

I already appeared in a previous Final attempt — do I still need to qualify SPOM Set C and D?

It depends on your Final admission date and Intermediate marks. Candidates admitted till May 2024 are generally exempt from Set C & D (Set A/B still mandatory before membership); candidates admitted from November 2024 onwards must qualify all applicable sets by 10 October 2026. See Step 4 for your exact category.

Where do I raise a query if my SSP data doesn't match these requirements?

Raise a ticket directly on the SSP, or email the Final exam helpline at final_examhelpline@icai.in.
