Advanced Audit and Assurance

The Advanced Audit and Assurance exam is designed to reflect the challenges auditors will face in their professional life. You will be required to analyse, evaluate and conclude on the assurance engagement and other audit and assurance issues in the context of best practice and current developments.

Note: AAA exam questions will be based on IFRS Standards. Due to the accounting knowledge required for AAA, it is recommended that candidates should attempt and pass SBR prior to attempting AAA.

Question approach:

1. Analyse the wording of the requirements carefully
2. Use the mark allocation to guide the length and breadth of the answer you should plan
3. Read the first paragraph to understand the assignment
4. Invest time in active reading of the scenario
5. Identify relevant technical knowledge n Accounting as well as auditing
6. Apply this to the scenario n Organise your planned points n Check you have used all information and exhibits before writing out your answer
