ACCA Salary in India: What You Can Realistically Earn
Search "ACCA salary in India" and you will find confident numbers everywhere, and almost none of them say where they come from. This page gives you the ranges that are actually being quoted, explains why they disagree, and shows you how to check any figure yourself before you let it shape a decision.
Most published guides put ACCA starting pay in India at ₹4–8 LPA, rising to roughly ₹15–25 LPA after five to ten years. Treat these as rough. No organisation publishes India salary data by ACCA status, and salary portals record pay by job title, not by qualification.
Three things move your number more than the qualification alone: who employs you, what role you do, and whether you are an affiliate or a full member.
What do ACCAs earn at each stage?
The bars below show the spread of figures quoted by published Indian salary guides in September 2026, not a Zeroinfy estimate. A wide bar means the sources disagree widely. All figures are annual CTC in lakhs (LPA).
How to read this. The widening bars are the honest part of the chart. At the start, jobs are similar and pay clusters. By leadership level, pay depends almost entirely on the role and the employer, and the qualification tells you very little.
ACCA's India Talent Trends 2025 report, drawn from India respondents to its global survey of over 10,000 people, found that 45% of Indian respondents expected a pay rise of 11–20% in the following 12 months, the highest of any region. That tells you about momentum, not salary levels. ACCA does not publish India salary bands by stage.
Does passing all exams make me "qualified"?
No, and this is the biggest reason salary figures get mixed up. "An ACCA" can mean three different things, and employers treat them differently.
Student
Registered and passing papers. Often working in an entry-level accounting, audit or reporting role at the same time. Pay reflects the job, not the papers passed.
Affiliate
All exams passed plus the Ethics and Professional Skills Module, but the 36-month practical experience requirement is not yet complete. Many "fresher" figures describe this stage.
Member
Exams, ethics module and 36 months of verified experience across nine performance objectives. Only members can use the ACCA designatory letters. This is what "ACCA-qualified" properly means.
When a guide quotes one "fresher salary", ask which of these three it means. Most do not say.
What moves the number most?
Employer type
Big 4 firms, global capability centres (GCCs) of multinationals, banks, Indian corporates and mid-size CA firms pay very differently for similar work. This is usually the largest single factor early on.
Role
Financial reporting under IFRS, audit, FP&A, treasury and consolidation are priced differently. ACCA fits best where the work is international-standards reporting. It does not give statutory audit signing rights in India, which remain exclusive to CAs.
Status
Affiliate or member makes a difference at hiring and promotion points, especially in firms that track designations formally.
City
Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai are where most GCC and Big 4 finance roles sit. Offers elsewhere tend to start lower.
Experience
After the first few years, what you have done matters more than what you passed. The qualification opens doors; your track record prices you.
A second qualification
Many professionals hold ACCA alongside CA or a degree. There is no reliable data isolating what the combination earns, so be wary of anyone quoting a precise "premium".
Why does every site quote different figures?
Because almost nobody is measuring ACCA salaries directly. Salary portals such as AmbitionBox, Glassdoor and Naukri collect self-reported pay by job title and company. A "Financial Analyst" figure includes B.Com graduates, MBAs, CA candidates and ACCAs together. Guides then relabel those job-title figures as "ACCA salary".
"According to ACCA's salary survey…"
ACCA's own talent survey reports attitudes and pay-rise expectations. The India report we reviewed does not contain salary bands by experience level. If a guide cites an ACCA survey for rupee figures, look for the link.
Big 4 fresher pay
Published figures for ACCA freshers in Big 4 firms range from around ₹4–5 LPA in some guides to ₹7–10 LPA in others. Both cannot be describing the same role in the same city.
Precise percentage "premiums"
Claims that ACCAs earn a fixed percentage more than B.Com or M.Com peers rarely come with a source we could trace. Treat an exact premium as marketing until shown the data.
How do I check a salary figure myself?
- Search by job title, not by "ACCA". Pick the actual role you would apply for, such as "Audit Associate" or "Financial Reporting Analyst".
- Add the company and city. A role at a Big 4 firm in Bengaluru is a different market from the same title at a mid-size firm in a Tier-2 city.
- Match your experience band. Filter to 0–2 years if you are starting out. Averages across all experience levels mislead.
- Check the sample size. A figure built from a handful of entries can swing widely. Compare two or three portals.
- Ask people doing the job. Seniors, alumni and interviewers will tell you more about a specific firm than any published range.
What reaches my bank account each month?
Almost every figure you see, including the ones on this page, is CTC: cost to company. It is not what you are paid monthly.
What CTC includes
Basic pay and allowances, plus the employer's provident fund contribution, gratuity, insurance and sometimes a variable bonus that is not guaranteed.
What reaches you
Gross monthly pay, minus your own PF contribution, professional tax and income tax. A ₹6 LPA CTC is ₹50,000 a month on paper; the in-hand figure will be noticeably lower.
When comparing offers, ask each employer for the monthly in-hand figure and the fixed versus variable split.
Will the 2027 changes affect pay?
ACCA's redesign takes effect from July 2027: 13 exams become 11, new Essential Employability Modules replace the ethics module, and a Data Science option is added at Strategic Professional level. All existing passes carry forward.
There is no evidence yet that the redesign changes what employers pay. Employers hire on status, role and experience, and the 36-month experience requirement is unchanged. Be sceptical of anyone claiming the new structure will raise salaries before a single cohort has qualified through it.

Quick answers
What is the salary of an ACCA fresher in India?
Most published guides quote ₹4–8 LPA for the first two years. The range is wide because it mixes students, affiliates and members, and different employer types. Big 4 firms and GCCs in major cities tend to sit towards the upper end.
Do ACCA affiliates earn less than ACCA members?
Often, yes. An affiliate has passed all exams but not completed the 36-month experience requirement. Some employers treat full membership as a promotion or pay trigger. How much it matters varies by firm.
Is ACCA salary higher than CA salary in India?
There is no reliable like-for-like data to answer this. The two qualifications lead to overlapping but different roles, and CA carries exclusive statutory audit signing rights in India. Pay depends far more on role, employer and experience than on which qualification you hold. Many professionals hold both.
What is ACCA salary per month?
A ₹4–8 LPA CTC works out to roughly ₹33,000–67,000 a month before deductions. Your in-hand pay will be lower once provident fund, professional tax and income tax are deducted.
Does ACCA guarantee a job or a particular salary?
No. No qualification guarantees placement or pay. Be cautious of any course provider that promises a specific package.
Can I earn while studying ACCA?
Yes. Many students work in entry-level accounting, audit or reporting roles while sitting papers, and that work can count towards the 36-month experience requirement if it meets ACCA's criteria. Pay at this stage reflects the job itself.
Will ACCA's 2027 changes affect salaries?
There is no evidence yet. Employers hire on status, role and experience. All existing passes carry forward to the new structure, and the experience requirement stays at 36 months.
How often is this page updated?
The market snapshot is re-checked every six months. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last verified.
Salary figures on this page summarise ranges quoted in published Indian salary guides and ACCA's India Talent Trends 2025 report. They are not Zeroinfy data and are not a promise of any salary. For qualification rules, confirm against accaglobal.com.
