Why the IBS question bank is small: Paper 6 was newly constituted under the New Scheme and first examined in May 2024. There is no Old Scheme equivalent to fall back on, so the Revision Test Papers listed above represent almost the entire body of official ICAI practice material for this paper. Each one is disproportionately valuable compared with the older papers, where a decade of archived questions exists.
What does Integrated Business Solutions cover?
Paper 6 does not have its own separate syllabus in the way other papers do. It presents business case studies that require you to apply the core CA Final subjects together, alongside Strategic Management, to reach a commercial recommendation rather than a single computed answer.
Core subjects drawn upon
- Financial Reporting — Ind AS application within a business scenario
- Advanced Financial Management — valuation, capital structure and investment decisions
- Advanced Auditing, Assurance and Professional Ethics
- Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation
- Indirect Tax Laws
- Corporate and Economic Laws
Strategic Management component
- Strategic analysis frameworks — applied to the case organisation rather than recalled in the abstract
- Strategic choice and implementation
- Business recommendation and justification
How should I use the RTP for an open book paper?
Open book does not mean easier. It means the paper tests navigation, judgement and synthesis rather than recall. The Revision Test Paper is the only reliable way to find out whether you can locate the right provision fast enough and integrate three subjects into one coherent answer under time pressure.
1. Solve with your actual permitted materials
Attempt every Revision Test Paper case study using exactly the books and notes you intend to carry into the examination hall. Discovering that your material is badly indexed during the real paper is the most common way candidates lose time.
2. Build an index, not more notes
In an open book paper, the constraint is retrieval speed rather than memory. Use each RTP to identify which provisions you had to hunt for, then tab and index those sections in your material.
3. Practise integrating, not answering in silos
A single IBS case study may require an Ind AS treatment, its tax consequence and an audit implication in one answer. Writing three separate mini-answers scores lower than one integrated response that connects them.
4. Conclude with a recommendation
Case study questions generally ask what the business should do, not only what the position is. An answer that analyses correctly but stops short of a stated recommendation leaves marks unclaimed.
5. Every RTP counts more in this paper
With no Old Scheme archive and only a handful of attempts examined so far, the official question bank for Paper 6 is small. Solve every available Revision Test Paper rather than sampling the most recent two or three.
| Resource | Released | Best used for |
|---|---|---|
| RTP | ~2 months before the attempt | Case study practice and testing your open book material |
| MTP | ~3–4 weeks before the attempt | Full-paper practice in exact exam format and duration |
| Past Papers | After each attempt concludes | Gauging real case length and which subjects are being integrated |

What is Integrated Business Solutions in CA Final?
Integrated Business Solutions is Group II, Paper 6 of CA Final under the ICAI New Scheme. It is a multidisciplinary case study paper with Strategic Management, carrying 100 marks and conducted as an open book examination.
It does not introduce new subject matter. Instead it requires candidates to apply Financial Reporting, Advanced Financial Management, Auditing, Direct and Indirect Tax and Corporate Laws together within a business scenario.
Is CA Final Paper 6 an open book exam?
Yes. Integrated Business Solutions is conducted as an open book examination, which means the paper tests retrieval speed, judgement and the ability to synthesise several subjects rather than memory.
Check the ICAI announcement for your attempt for the current rules on which materials may be carried into the examination hall.
Why are there no Old Scheme RTPs for CA Final IBS?
Paper 6 was newly constituted under the New Scheme and first examined in May 2024. It replaced the Old Scheme elective paper, which had a different structure and subject list.
As a result the Revision Test Papers on this page represent almost the entire body of official ICAI practice material available for this paper.
Is the CA Final IBS RTP free to download?
Yes. Every ICAI Revision Test Paper is free and requires no registration or payment. The links on this page open the official PDFs directly.
Does open book mean Paper 6 is easier?
No. Open book removes the memory constraint but replaces it with a time constraint. Candidates who have not indexed their material lose substantial time searching for provisions mid-paper.
The paper also rewards integration across subjects and a clear final recommendation, neither of which a book can supply.
Is solving the RTP enough to pass CA Final IBS?
No, but it matters more here than in any other paper. The Revision Test Paper assumes the underlying subjects are already complete, since IBS draws on all of them.
Because the official question bank is small, solving every available RTP is closer to essential than optional for this paper.
When does ICAI release the RTP for each CA Final attempt?
ICAI typically publishes the Revision Test Paper on its Board of Studies portal roughly two months before the examination begins.
Zeroinfy updates this page with the direct PDF link for each new attempt as soon as ICAI releases it.
